In action for Klepp

From an early age I have been passionate about fitness and training. I grew up in Norway playing football and handball, going on to play semi-professional football for several years for Klepp IL FC and representing the Norwegian Under-17 and Under-19 national teams. The experience I gained through competing  showed me the difference that good coaching and sports therapy can make to your performance and fitness, and the impact that fitness can have on health and wellbeing. I knew that I wanted to work in sport and fitness industry, and that I could make a difference.

I moved to the UK in 2007 to study for a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Therapy at Leeds Metropolitan University, supported by a football scholarship. I successfully qualified as a Sports Therapist in 2010, having trained in a range of specialised injury prevention and rehabilitation healthcare methods, and with experience working in a range of clinical settings.

In parallel to my degree study I also trained as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, undertaking an internship under Brendan Chaplin, and delivering coaching to a range of athletes and teams while laying foundations for professional accreditation. The role of a Strength & Conditioning Coach is to provide physical preparation programmes for athletes, which I believe complements the role of a Sports Therapist, allowing me to offer a complete range of specialist knowledge and techniques to put, and keep, you in the best shape.

I have since worked as a Sports Therapist with a wide range of individuals and teams, from recreational exercisers to elite athletes, with former clients such as the Rugby Football League (RFL), Welsh Athletics, Norway's 24 hour running team to name a few. More information about my experience, how I can help you and the services I offer can be found on my Sports Therapy & Massage page.

In 2011 I gained Accredited status with the UK governing body, UK Strength & Conditioning Association (UKSCA). Since then I have gained considerable experience working with teams and athletes, I was the Head of Strength & Conditioning at Bristol Rovers FC Youth Academy for four seasons and also provided Strength & Conditioning Coaching for Cardiff Metropolitan University Athletics. More information on my experience and the services I offer can be found on my Strength & Conditioning page.

To bring my skills and expertise to a wider audience I am also qualified as a Personal Trainer. The Personal Trainer market is a crowded one, but I believe I have the knowledge and experience to make you get the best out of your workouts. More information on the services I offer can be found on my Personal Training page.
